jquery - Dynamic text highlighting using the rel value from a link on a previous page -

This is not possible, but I will remove it anyway. I want a way to highlight the text so that when you have come to a page from a link, jQuery will highlight specific text by using the rel attribute from the link (or any other identifier). For example, we say I have an event registration site and there is a section for 'speaker' who will provide talks in different seminars throughout the program. After this, when a speaker is presented, there is a separate page with the calendar.

The name and the picture of the speaker are linked to the calendar which is based on the table. Up to now, I'm only able to link the picture and name of the speaker to the table row on a calendar row, using an ID in the table row, where the associated time slot is contained.

The problem is that sometimes a speaker will be lumped with other speakers or their table row is very close to the bottom and therefore the browser window will not align with it altogether

I I am trying to understand the name of the speaker in the name of the speaker should be highlighted in the name of the speaker which the user clicked in the 'Speaker' section. . This way, if the browser does not align the window name, it will be visible and the user will not have to scan for it.

Any suggestions? I appreciate anything, I'm relatively green with jQuery. Thank you

Then you need to first ensure that every speaker link has this format Is:

& lt; The name of the speaker is an important part of *? S = speaker_name * A href = "/ speaker / 12? S = speaker_name & gt; speaker's name & lt; / a & gt; P>

Once you have it sorted, go to the / speaker / page 12 so that you need these variables:

  var pathname = window.location.pathname; // full url will return the var speaker name = pathname.split ('s ='); // will divide the URL into two elements

Now make sure there is a duration with each speaker Name equal to speaker name And finally there is a simple jQuery command:

  $ ('.' + SpeakerName [1]). CSS ('background', # f00);  Tom Soyer
  1. , we will have URL: then

  2. this URL We will tag the tags with the class Tom_Sawyer: & lt; span class = "Tom_S Finally we run jQuery: $ ('.' + SpeakerName [1]). CSS ('Background' and '' weird '' 'tomisair

  3. , # f00);
